Congratulations to the following members of the Class of 2006 for their accomplishments:

  • Jessica Gill, who was accepted into Boston University, the Gallatin School of Individualized Study at New York University and to Columbia College Chicago.
  • Lisa Caputo, who completed a year-long internship at McCarter Theatre in Princeton in the development/fundraising department and was accepted into Syracuse UniversityPratt Institute, and Rutgers University. She will be attending Rutgers in the fall for Library Science.
  • Jessica DeLisi, who was accepted into the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the University of Georgia.
  • Catharina Evans, who was accepted into Middlebury College‘s Bread Loaf School of English and the New York State Summer Writers Institute at Skidmore College.
  • Ben Leach, who was accepted into the Science and Environmental Reporting program at New York University.
  • Pamela Hanscom, who was accepted into the English program at the University of North Carolina atCharlotte.
  • Kimberly Gray, who has been accepted into the Widener and Drexel law schools.
  • Christine Brozyna, for getting her first nationally carried story, “My First War Protest: The Perspective of the Girl Photographed by Reuters.”  Check it out here.
  • Jessica DeLisi, who presented her essay “Word Choice in English: Deciding Between the Synonyms fragrance, odor, and stench” at the Sigma Tau Delta International Convention in Kansas City in March 2005.
  • Jessica Gill ’06, who presented her short story “Confessions of an Angry Hamster” at the at the Sigma Tau Delta International Convention in Kansas City in March 2005, and for completing a Spring 2005 internship with Simon and Schuster.
  • Christine Klima, who landed a paid summer internship at Regnery Publishing, Inc. in Washington, D.C.  The internship was competitively awarded through Sigma Tau Delta.
  • Courtney Rydel, whose essay “The Miss-Education of Harriet Smith” received runner-up for best critical essay at the Sigma Tau Delta International Convention in Kansas City in March 2005.
  • Jill Walsh, whose critical essay “Mary Rowlandson: A Captivating Trespasser,” written for Dr. Tarter’s Women’s autobiographies class, was accepted into the spring 2006 issue of the nationally reviewed Sigma Tau Delta Review.
  • Ben Samara, who has been published as a film critic and an Academy Awards columnist. Ben’s reviews have been syndicated on the Internet Movie Database and the Movie Review Query Engine.  They can be seen on Movie-Gurus.com and TheMovieInsider.com.
  • Nicole Grieco, who completed a summer 2005 internship with Columbia University Press.  Nicole worked as an editorial assistant in the Acquisitions Editorial department, specifically working with books on philosophy, religion and social service.
  • Donna Kardos, who completed a summer 2005 internship with Modern Bride magazine in NYC, and has been hired full-time as a news assistant at the Wall Street Journal.
  • Catharina Evans, who interned as a Publicity Assistant at The Lawrenceville School in Lawrenceville, New Jersey, and has been hired as a Public Relations Representative for The Eagleton Institute for Research and Politics, Center for American Women in Politics, at Rutgers University.
  • Ben Leach for interning at the Daily Journal in Vineland, NJ, and thereafter being hired by the Journal as a freelance writer.  Ben has been published in Lee’s Toy Review twice since the beginning of the 2005-2006 school year.  He also wrote and directed a two-act musical for a local children’s theater group in South Jersey called “Whose Show Is It Anyway?”
  • Maryellen Collins, who was the 2005-2006 recipient of the Robert Mehlman Student Teaching Award.
  • Pamela Wrede, who was one of the recipients of the 2006 New Jersey Commissioner’s Distinguished Teacher Candidate Award.
