Congratulations to the following members of the Class of 2005 for their accomplishments:
  • Erin Arentz, who accepted a secondary English teaching position at Atlantic Christian School in Egg Harbor Township, NJ.
  • Sandi Bertonazzi, who accepted a secondary English teaching position at Vineland High School, North in Vineland, NJ.
  • Courtney Ciencewicki, who accepted a secondary English teaching position at Hammarskjold Middle School in East Brunswick, NJ.
  • Adrienne Colyard, who was accepted into the Harvard Graduate School of Education in the Human Development and Psychology department.
  • Jill Damanskis, who accepted a secondary English teaching position at Monongahela Middle School in Deptford Township, NJ.
  • Reneé DelCampo, who accepted a secondary English teaching position at Cherokee High School in Marlton, NJ.  Renee’s essay “Unveiling the Marassa: Twinning in Edgwidge Danticat’s The Farming of Bones and Breath, Eyes, Memory,” written for Dr. Ortiz’s Global Women Writers class, has been accepted into the nationally reviewed Sigma Tau Delta Review, the spring 2006 issue.
  • Michael Delguerico, who accepted a secondary English teaching position at Cherokee High School in Marlton, NJ.
  • Michelle DiSarno, who accepted a secondary English teaching position at Randolph High School in Randolph, NJ.
  • Katie Dowson, who accepted a secondary English teaching position at Burnet Middle School in Union Township, NJ.
  • Tierney Dwyer, who presented her essay “His ‘Portable Ireland’: Nora Barnacle as Inspiration for the Work of James Joyce” at the Sigma Tau Delta International Convention in Kansas City in March 2005.  Tierney has also just accepted a position working in the Human Resources Dept. at Congoleum Corporation in Mercerville, NJ.
  • Kristina Fiore, who along with Donna Kardos ’06 and Tammy Tibbetts ’07 won a New Jersey Press Foundation award.  They received honorable mention for investigative reporting for their coverage of Sodexho in the Signal.  Kristina is also the Graduate Assistant at New York University‘s Science and Environmental Reporting Program, a 3-semester program in science writing; her graduate assistantship covers tuition.
  • Kate Fleming, who accepted a secondary English teaching position at Lewis Palmer Middle School in Monument, CO.
  • Megan Fritz, who accepted a secondary English teaching position at Point Pleasant High School in Point Pleasant, NJ.
  • Zac Goldstein, who was awarded a paid summer internship with the New Bern Sun Journal in New Bern, NC courtesy of the Institute for Humane Studies.
  • Elizabeth Hults, who accepted a secondary English teaching position at Barnegat High School in Barnegat, NJ.  Elizabeth also received The Commissioner’s Distinguished Teacher Candidate Award for 2005, and the John F. Erath Award for her contributions to drama on campus.
  • Katrina Ingram, who accepted a secondary English teaching position at Bordentown High School in Bordentown, NJ.
  • Kimberly Kelly, who accepted a secondary English teaching position at Hillsborough High School in Hillsborough, NJ.
  • Lauren LeBano, who accepted a middle school English teaching position in Franklin Township, NJ.
  • Christina Maffa,who presented her essay “Removing the Mask: Shylock’s Role as a Comic Villain” at the Sigma Tau Delta International Convention in Kansas City in March 2005, and who has accepted a secondary English teaching position at Churchill Junior High School in East Brunswick, NJ.
  • Matthew Miller, who presented his essay “Nihilism and the Tragic Challenge of King Lear” at the Sigma Tau Delta International Convention in Kansas City in March 2005.  Matt has just accepted a position as Content Coordinator for Bristol-Myers Squibb.  Matt’s poem, “Jumping Poem or Experiment in Economy,” has been accepted into the nationally reviewed Sigma Tau Delta Rectangle, the spring 2006 issue.
  • Cheryl Pierce, whose essay on the 12th-century poet Marie De France was awarded an honorable mention by The New Jersey Project for Feminist Scholarship.
  • Danielle Ravaioli, whose essay “Re-membering Caribbean History: Identity and Testimonial in The Farming of the Bones and I is a Long Memoried Woman” won the New Jersey Project Essay Competition.  Danielle was awarded a scholarship from the NJP.
  • Christine Ritzius, who accepted a secondary English teaching position at Triton High School in Triton, NJ.
  • Charles Roberto, who accepted a secondary English teaching position at Round Valley Middle School in Clinton Township, NJ.
  • Andrew Sarrol, who will be attending Seton Hall University School of Law as part of the Distinguished Scholars Program, which comes with a full tuition scholarship. He was also accepted to St. John’s, Rutgers Newark, and Villanova.
  • Pat Skinner, who has accepted a secondary English teaching position at Delaware Valley Regional High School in Frenchtown, NJ.
  • Mariya (Dharma) Starchevsky, who will be attending the George Mason University Law School in Arlington, VA.  Dharma was also accepted by the University of Connecticut, which offered her its Dean’s Scholarship and by Seton Hall University, which offered her its $24,000 Chandler’s Scholarship.
  • Christopher Vona, who accepted a fellowship to the University of Delaware in Newark, DE for the MA/PhD in English literature.
  • Elizabeth Wetzel, who accepted a secondary English teaching position at Avenal Middle School in Woodbridge Township, NJ.
  • Kelly Wilson, who accepted a secondary English teaching position at Hammarskjold Middle School in East Brunswick, NJ.
